Revitalized SDCTE Conference Is Ready for You

In order to encompass everything last year's conference attendees requested, the SDCTE Spring Conference has been extended.

Following the theme "Revitalizing Ourselves; Motivating Our Students," the conference will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, March 22, with registration at Cedar Shores resort.  The action actually begins at 10 a.m. with the welcome and overview.

Next comes this year's new feature, Roundtable Discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to join in three of six discussions during the one and one-half hour time period.

Topics featured at the Roundtables will be Teaching in the Block Schedule, Post Secondary Readiness, Balancing the Extra Curricular Load, Trouble Shooting in the First Five Years, Dealing with DACS and 6+1 Writing Traits.  All promise to be enthralling discussions.

Also new this year is a Friday luncheon with featured speaker Carol Heart.  For more information on Ms. Heart's background, please see page one.

Those who bring their homework to the conference will be eligible for the door prize drawings.  Your homework is to bring 50 copies of a written idea or book review/recommendation.  The idea exchange, another new addition this year, will take place Friday at 5:10 p.m.

Six break-out sessions will fill the afternoon.  Those attending will have the opportunity to attend three of the six sessions.

Saturday morning brings another six break-out sessions, with the opportunity to attend three of them.

Please join us at the conference and revitalize yourself and in turn motivate your students!
