I hope you've all had a relaxing break and are ready to rip into 1999. South Dakota Council
of Teachers of English is hard at work. Final preparations are being made for the conference at
Cedar Shores in Chamberlain on March 26-27. We hope you can fit it into your schedule.
Please think about nominating an English teacher for Teacher of the
Year. This is a great way for us to give accolades to our peers. You will
find the forms in this newsletter. You will also find the forms for nominating a South Dakota author.
We would love to hear from you.
Attention!!
Attention!! The executive committee is looking for someone who would like to be vice-president.
This is a 6-year commitment: 2 years as vice-president, 2 years as president, and
2 years as past-president. One perk of the job is that you will be sent to the national
convention once during the 6 years. If you are interested in the position,
please contact Karen Harrington at Mitchell Senior High, 920 North Capital, Mitchell, SD 57301.
We would like to appoint this person at the conference.
Remember, you are very important in the lives of the students you touch.
Give a smile and compliment to the student who deserves it the least and see what happens.
Take Care and God Bless,
Karen Harrington
