Plans
are now complete for the English roundtables at the annual SDEA/NEA Convention
to be held in Sioux Falls. The English sessions are all scheduled on
Wednesday, August 13th. A total of six will be offered including Kris
Hayes with "Readers Theatre--Not Just a Competitive Event" and Dr.
Roger Ochse with "Critical Thinking-based Instruction." Karen
Harrington will chair an Idea Swap and Sharon Olbertson will present a session
on poetry. Sue Morrell will moderate a roundtable on writing, and Kandy
Punt will facilitate a session generating discussion on obtaining more members
and involvement in SDCTE.
In addition to the interest sessions, SDCTE will sponsor a luncheon on Wednesday. It will be held on the Southeast Technical Institute campus in one of the English roundtable rooms. All SDCTE members are invited to attend and encouraged to bring a guest. More details will be sent out to the membership prior to the convention.
