Under the leadership of Donna Fisher of Mitchell High School and Sharon Olbertson of Beresford
High School, SDCTE is proud to announce the completion of a literary map of South Dakota.
The full-color artistic representation suggests the diversity of South Dakota's landscape and ethnic cultures. Over fifty familiar authors are located near their geographical connection on the map itself. On the back of the map is more detailed biographical information and selected titles of more than 150 writers. You can visit the SD Literary Map Web Site at http://www.dwu.edu/sdlitmap/.
One South Dakota Literary Map is being given to every library in South Dakota through the
partnership of the South Dakota Council of Teachers of English and the South Dakota Library Association.
This project is funded by a grant from the South Dakota Humanities
Council, an affiliation of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and a gift from the Karl E. Mundt Foundation.
