Would you do me a favor? I am curious about what specific poems, short stories, plays, novels, and essays English teachers of South Dakota choose as their favorites to teach in their high school classes.
Here is my request: of these five genre would you list your favorites, irrespective of grade level, and send them to me? I thought that I would limit the number of poems to fifteen and the other genres to ten. Of course, if you want to list more, you certainly may, but list them in descending order of preference. Please indicate the grade level or levels at which you teach them.
In addition, if any of you have developed literature units based on a theme and would be willing to share them with others, please send those in, too. We will feature some of them in future newsletters. If the response is sufficient, I will tabulate the top ten literature favorites in each genre and include them in the next issue.
I realize this may take a bit of effort and time, but the results should be interesting. I hope to hear from you soon.
