Afterwards, a smell of the earth, moisture from the sky, and the start of a new life fills the air.  Small drops of water fall from the leaves, branches, and roofs to form small puddles of glistening liquid.  Meanwhile, tiny creatures slither or jump into the "nature-made" pools.  The sky is silent as clouds scatter and separate to let the sun's rays shine down on the newly-cleaned earth.  At first, the momentary light warms the earth.  Then nature teases all creatures by letting the clouds converge again only to leave behind a moist chill.  The only sound is the tatter of lost raindrops trying to find their way to the sodden ground.  In the tumultuous sky red, orange, blue, and purple create marvelous streams of brilliant, glowing highlights.  Obviously, the only place to be after a light rain or blistering thunderstorm is outside enjoying the cool, damp, myriad wonders of nature.
